Тема: Современный президент США

Тип урока: комбинированный урок.

Цель урока: Развитие навыка устной речи и поискового чтения по теме «Современный президент США».


Задачи :

Образовательные –

- расширить знания учащихся по страноведению,

- познакомить учащихся с биографической информацией о наиболее известных политических лидерах США;

- активизировать изученную лексику по теме "Американские президенты"

- совершенствовать грамматические навыки по теме "Артикли с географическими названиями",

- совершенствовать навыки монологического высказывания на основе прочитанного,

Развивающие –

- развитие навыков произношения, навыков аудирования

- развитие навыков поискового чтения и вопросно- ответной работы по тексту.

- развитие познавательного интереса у учащихся к истории, культуре, политического строя стран изучаемого языка.

- развивать навык работы в паре, группе;

Воспитательные-

- cспособствовать формированию уважения и понимания истории, традиций стран изучаемого языка.

- воспитывать ответственное отношение к важным мировым историческим событиям.


Формы работы: фронтальная, парная, групповая.
Оборудование: учебник, интерактивная доска, компьютер, презентация учителя.

Eight American presidents never went to college, including George Washington, the first US president.

In February, Americans celebrate President’s Day, which honours the birthdays of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and all other past presidents of the US.

Before we begin speaking let's remember how to pronounce the names of presidents and some geographical names.

Repeat after me, please.

- Let's remember some facts about the geographical position of the country the presidents of which we are discussing today. Look at the map and answer my questions.

- What is the USA washed by?

- What countries does it border on?

- What are the main rivers and mountains?


-What rule do we know connected with the geographical names?

- Right. Let's remember the rule. What articles can we use with geographical names?

- When do we use "the"?

- When do we use zero article?

- Let's practise. In your worksheets find the task on this rule and show it to me. Fill in the gaps using the necessary articles. You have 1.5 minute for the task and then we'll check it up. For each right sentence you will get the point. Start working.

- Let's check up. Exchange your worksheets and read the sentences of a partner.

-Now at the screen you can see right answers.

Count the right answers of your partner and put the result in the star which you can see after the task.

- Look at the screen and tell me whom you can see.

You are going to work in pairs. Write down as many true sentences as you can in your worksheets paying attention to the word order! You have got 2 minutes for the task. For each right sentence you will get the point. Start working.

On your desks you have stars of different colours: orange and yellow. Students who have yellow cards, please, speak about G.W, and orange cards - about A.L. At the same time you have to fill in the table.
